I love Jefferson curls so much. When I skip the gym a few times my back starts hurting again like it did before I started going to the gym. That's my sign that they work 😭

I feel like all the good physios do. I've worked with a ton of physios who have no idea how to prescribe and progress a Jefferson curl, in fact I can only think of a handful who would use it as a regular rehab exercise. That being said, I prescribe it daily and have had an incredible amount of success with patients building their low back strength and resilience. I'm a chiropractor though, so I'm too busy catching heat for the rest of my profession acting like adjustments do anything except make noise.

Depends on the reason for your back pain. I'm sure you know this and are just doing the trendy thing so people can try and get a quick fix, but if your back is in pain as a result of being chronically tight, then exercising could make it worse if it's because it's taking on the load that other muscles should be doing. Muscles that are now weak. It is those weak muscles that you need to exercise, and the pressure will eventually come off your back. Knowing your symptoms and spotting tight muscles as a result of being weak, overstretched, or taking on too much load, is crucial for developing a specific physiotherapy recovery plan for you.
