@runandeatwithjack: Pastéis de Bacalhau - Lovely little cod fritters with potato. These are just like, really great fishcakes in a finger food format. These, a beer, bit of sun. Come on now. Recipe for the fritters below, recipe for the basil mayo is in the caption of my BLT video. Tin by #papaanzois, from @The Tinned Fish Market Ingredients (2 to 3 servings) Tinned Bacalhau - 2 tins Potato - 1 large, mine was 220g Eggs - 2 Onion - half an onion, about 60g to 80g Parsley - A small handful Lemon wedge Pantry Salt Oil for frying Method Peel, chop, boil and mash the potato. Finely dice the onion, finely chop the parsley. Combine everything in a bowl. Shape your fritters as in the video. Deep fry at 180°C (360°F) until cooked through, with a crisp, golden brown shell. Drain the fritters, season immediately with salt, and squeeze a bit of lemon on if you like. Enjoy immediately with your choice of sauce! #pasteisdebacalhau #tinnedfish

Watching you do this effortlessly just makes me think about the time I tried making a simple shakshuka and it became a soup

Portugal has the most diverse cuisine in Europe, in my opinion. It's simple but quite complex, with different techniques, diverse tasting profiles, and it's especially heartwarming

thats definitely not the same type of Bacalhau. the salted dried one ends up being slightly more fishy than tinned variety. Otherwise, they look pretty good and im sire they were delish

You do them with two spoons. Not by hand. That’s why they have a semi triangular section.

In Italy we have a similar dish called Baccalá fritto. We don’t use potatoes and we batter the cod.

yes, "pastéis de bacalhau" ! if you make it with wheat flour instead of potato, is "pataniscas de bacalhau".

honestly its not the usual type off bacalhau we use but the food its usually made we leftovers so the tin variant in this case fits the spirit off the food
