I have spent a glorious Saturday morning with my fabulous wife. I’m 72 and she’s 67. We just passed our 8th anniversary. Do the math; she was 59 on our wedding day, nearly 60, and it was her first. I worship and adore her and I tell her and show her many times, every day. She’s often bursting out laughing and I ask her why and she says it’s just because she’s happy. I’m oversharing this just to let you know tomorrow can be a better day. You look more than 30 years from your 59th birthday, and that’s a lot of tomorrows.

all of these are completely valid, it sounds like you haven’t enjoyed the relationships you’ve had, and for good reason. i wouldn’t want to be in the relationship you describe either. but im still hopeful and open to finding something that does fit me without compromising as hard as it seems most people do. & i think you’re ability to articulate what you want is a great place to move from

It's expensive and if you don't have a good circle of friends it can feel heavy without a partner BUT I'd take it everyday over the alternative of begging to be treated with basic kindness, you are inspiration my friend
