Due out TODAY‼️🆘🆘🆘 Bolt needs an immediate rescue partner who can provide the advanced medical care he urgently requires. This handsome little guy is listed as a 2-year-old Pit Bull mix, but he's definitely a "Biggie Smalls," weighing just 24 pounds. Despite everything he's been through, Bolt has remained a sweet, mild-mannered boy with a good appetite and has been peacefully sharing our hospital area with two Chihuahua companions. During his capture in the field, Bolt bit the catch pole, causing trauma to his gums. He has also chewed on his kennel while at the shelter, and unfortunately, the bleeding has continued. This morning, his packed cell volume (PCV) measured 20%, and our veterinarian has started him on Vitamin K while he remains under close observation. At this time, our veterinary team is concerned that Bolt may be experiencing an underlying bleeding disorder. Possible causes include a clotting disorder or toxin exposure, such as anticoagulant rodenticide or aspirin ingestion. He urgently needs a rescue partner that can provide immediate transfer for advanced diagnostics, continuous monitoring, and medical treatment that extends beyond what a municipal shelter can provide. Our veterinarian is requesting that Bolt be transferred today, July 13, 2026, as soon as possible, so he can receive the level of care he needs. If your rescue organization has the ability to help, please contact us immediately. Your willingness to step forward today could truly save Bolt's life.
