lasted 3 months and i fell, i lasted 16 days and because of my intense ovulation i almost fell two days ago but in the very last moment i was able to stop it twice and on the third time i didnt give in to the temptation. It’s pretty hard and what i happened to discover is that arousal shouldn’t be stopped because it will continue to overtake (it’s almost as if your parent tells you not to press a red button but you press it anyway) — instead, the intense arousal should be redirected into activities that focus on creating or self-growth — singing, drawing, writing, studying, reading, lifting weights, running, walking, getting tasks done, videogames, etc. Masturbation is just a quick way of relieving because we’ve been manipulated into thinking that arousal should always end in physical act which is not true — i hope this helps and gives a little bit more clarity

I've been abstinent for over a year. Stopped sleeping around and watching 🌽. But I still struggle with self pleasure. I know it's a sin because of how it makes me feel afterwards (shameful, dirty, unworthy, condemned). It's rooted in lust, adultery and sexual immorality. I've noticed that it kills my prayer life. had it too, but the more i go deep in relationship with Jesus, i lose the desire to do so.. i feel contented on my own and dont find the need to do it. when you walk close with Jesus, you slowly lose the desires of the flesh, and it's true, Christ IS indeed enough. He broke my chains.

i do also struggle with this. i still do sadly. i tried stopping many many times, i deleted the apps i used, i blocked them, i made sure i can't google them but nothing sticks permanently. i don't know how to continue because it's always 2 or 3 weeks with no urge to mastrubate and then i fall into it, sometimes only once sometimes more than once. i go back to God and the cycle continues. and i don't know what i'm doing wrong.
