i am reading "The once and future sex" by Eleonor Janega, about medieval women's roles, and beauty standards have been alway so ambiguous that we could all be Helen of Troy and at the same time no one could never be Helen of Troy. Beauty was a sign of virtue and at the same time a condemn to burn in hell. Beauty was expected from women but also punished as an original sin. I mean they believed you could spend the eternity in hell with demons pinching your face with needles if you plucked your eyebrows. But at the same time beauty was a survival skill, so women choose that destiny in hell in order to have better living probability in earth.

I enjoy not dating and placing expectations on myself or someone else. And being 47 guys aren’t interested in gals my age - it’s freeing - I am no longer expected to be a mom or support a man. Embracing life without self imposed expectations. Wished I was more self-forgiving in my 20s-30s
