the game was made with the idea in mind that the community would band together online to figure out builds, quests, cheeses and so on. Miyazaki said it himself. Thats why quests are so convoluted and theres no built in guide whatsoever. But ultimately in my opinion one should play whatever feels and looks cooler, stats are overrated

I did when I first played it because I had literally never played a game like that before. I was just running around in limgrave for 8 hours as a samurai with a great sword, pumping points into strength, it was a mess, so guides at the beginning helped me enjoy the game.
