got married at 45 to a 24-year-old gal. we had three kids I was 48 for baby number one and twins when I was 50. The boys are now in their late teens. I am since divorced and they have primarily lived with me as the young mother could not handle motherhood so well. The boys have excelled both academically and athletically and the four of us are doing fantastic.

Here's the thing, you can never make assumptions about other people's lives. I was 16 years older than my wife (she was 22 and I was 38 when we started dating), and I was very reluctant because of the age difference. To make a long story short, we had a very happy marriage for more than 20 years before she passed away. Is it a good idea for everyone, not in the least, is it a good idea for 2 individual people, perhaps.
