Entry level jobs that require a degree aren’t entry level, then you get a degree, accumulate student loan debts then you’re “overqualified” for entry level positions 🤣

Yeah, it's insane in carpentry. I love scenic carpentry (degree in theatre) but every listing I see requires every skill known to mankind, availability on days, nights, and weekends, welding experience, CNC experience, experience with the latest expensive computer programs, and sometimes even different class licenses...for at most $30 per hour - and that's the max high end. So, they want elite skill, elite experience, and little work/life balance for pay that wouldn't get you qualified for a 1 bedroom apartment in most cities.

In my 40’s…took a side job and she advertised it as 22$ an hour yet once I was hired she told me I needed more experience so she was going to start me at 18 🙄 I literally have at least 10 years of experience for this job too

Somehow, American corporations have gotten the idea that people are *blessed* to have the honor of their employ, rather than treating their people with appreciation for choosing to work there. And that bleeds into prospective employees, too.

It will get to the point people refuse to work and mass businesses go out because the pay is just too low
