As an Apple user I fully support EU on this matter. Apple’s privacy statements are just a bunch of crap. In reality it’s them trying to limit the competition and to maximise their revenue.

This is why I don’t like the EU regulating software like this because what’s next? They start demanding Ford vehicles sold in the EU to be able to use Mercedes Benz and Peugeot auto parts and services??? This is the reason many people CHOOSE Apple products voluntarily in the already free market because they WANT privacy.

Guys. I don’t know if anyone here understands what’s actually being asked of Apple. You own a device, you load pictures in that device, you have messages in that device, you have apps in that device. All those belong to you. Now with AI, there is a possibility to have AI use all that data in a way that’s useful. Apple knows that and created Siri AI (powered by Gemini because they couldn’t make their own Apple Intelligence work), and created lots of API to access the data in your device. Now, what if you want to use another AI system to interact with your data? Apple says no. You can’t. We won’t allow any other provider to access that data. They are gate keeping your data. It’d be like buying a camera, and the only way to edit the pictures you taken is if you use the manufacturer’s editing software. Do you think that’d be okay?

There is a reason I choose apple and that is for simplicity and love for the eco system, I like having one App Store and one Siri I don’t need 20 different ways of downloading an app on my phone and to change my ai on my phone to different ones. I have apps for that. If I wanted everything opposite to apple I would choose android. My opinion❤️

One is concerned with security. One is just hating apple for no reason. If you don’t want to be locked to apples ecosystem, then don’t buy an iPhone, it’s honestly that simple. I’m so glad Apple has chosen to protect their users and not give in. They have even tried to work with the EU on this on multiple occasions

People already have a choice. If you like apples ecosystem you get Apple products. Is that simple. If you want more “freedom” then you get literally anything else.

I dont see why the EU should be allowed to tell Apple how thay should develop there Software. I dont like apple and dont use there Products, but if i buy an apple device, i want to have the apple ecosystem. No goverment should tell any Company how to Design there Software, if consumers dont like it, thay dont buy it.

They don't let Siri AI in because EU requires that Apple lets others to operate on Iphones on equal terms as Apple. Siri AI has some sort of access to iphone that other firms can't get. That creates a monopoly for that aplication wich EU doesn't allow.

it's quite simple. Apple pays Google annually a lot of money for their AI to be integrated into Siri AI. they are well aware if they open Siri AI only to Google that it doesn't comply with DMA. they simply don't want to pay other AI companies annually as well and don't want to put the time in for development.
