A free people do not surrender rights for comfort, fear, or obedience. The moment accountability disappears, tyranny begins. When government officials can violate the law without consequence, justice becomes legalized oppression. Freedom does not die overnight — it is stripped away one unchecked abuse at a time. Police in America have been violating the people's civil rights for 235 years and lie about it under oath to get a conviction and the system would back the officer. Now we the people have cameras we see how corrupt they truly are. The First Amendment protects the public’s right to record government officials while they perform their duties in public. Transparency is not a threat to democracy—it’s essential to it.
