Sometimes gentle giants like Rocky are misunderstood when they first enter the shelter. It’s a loud, overwhelming place filled with unfamiliar people, sounds, and smells. When Rocky arrived here, he was scared and didn’t do so great during his assessment. And because of that, he is now rescue only. Meaning he’s not available for public adoption. Not because he’s a bad dog, but because he was trying to survive an environment he didn’t understand. Rocky’s finders were heartbroken to have to surrender him, his owners were evicted and left him behind and alone in the home for 2 weeks. The people that found him only had wonderful things to say. They shared that he does well with kids, does well with other dogs, and is truly a well rounded, loving dog. They found him, cared for him, and when they realized they couldn’t keep him, they searched for help eventually finding me through TikTok and sending the saddest message, hoping we could help him. Rocky will need a committed long term foster and a rescues help. 2 years old. 100lbs. Low energy. Sweet and people friendly. Carson Animal Shelter, Gardena CA
