@securebordersuk: Two men were the first to be jailed for endangering lives during Channel crossings after piloting overcrowded dinghies carrying more than 140 people between them. They are the first to be sentenced under the endangerment offence introduced in the Border Security Act. Mohammad Tajik, an Afghan national, and Alnour Mohamed Ali, a Sudanese national, were sentenced to two years and two years and three months respectively.
