You’ve been told to skip Tower of Dawn but I have a feeling it’s going to be one of your favourites.

Manon is the best character by far. It’s not a coincidence that the series got significantly better once Manon comes into the fold

Finally someone understand what’s not great about this series, and specifically Aelin. Maas wants us to think she’s a badass so bad but she annoys the shit out of me

I feel like people who get bored by TOD don't actually like reading

"The Aelin is the part that I endure more than enjoy ". You turned my experience into words.

Just a thought, if Aelin is always in control which means nothing is at stake? Is that like saying there are no stakes during a James Bond movie? Or any superhero movie? When I watch those I know every time that James Bond is getting out of whatever predicament he finds himself in, or has a master backup plan that gets revealed. Then he is idolized as this brilliant character? Maybe I’m misunderstanding but I just can’t stop thinking about this? I’ll just always love Aelin! 😂 🙈 I really enjoy your reviews and your fresh takes on this series! 😊

skipping ToD is wild. I don't think you could be a fan of this series and also tell someone to skip one of the best books

Tower of Dawn is essential to the story. You should absolutely not skip it! I gotta tell you, I log into this app every three weeks or so just catch up on your monthly reads. I’m excited to see your take on Kingdom of Ash. 😏

I have very similar feelings about this whole series so I can confidently say you are going to enjoy ToD! Still the same issues with the fluff but it’s really nice to pivot away from Aelin for a moment

I said once: “It spends more time trying to convince us it’s epic fantasy than actually being epic fantasy”. The fans were very angry about this. I really enjoyed Tower of Dawn though! It’s the best one in the series and I hate that people say to skip it.

I’m curious if you’ve ever read Priory of the Orange Tree? I really enjoy how you’ve picked apart the TOG series, and while Priory is a bit different, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on it!
