real answer? your boxers are picking up little bits of lint in the dryer from your socks or whatever and those little fibers you can't even see are accumulating there with the friction of more hair and fabric now

They tested this with bellybuttons on an episode of Braniac. It turns out fibres from ALL your clothes can migrate across your body via your body hair. When your clothes rub up against your skin, fibres get tangled, caught and ripped free. They then get passed along your body hair until they either fall off of you or find a crevice of some kind (like your bellybutton) where they get stuck, tangled up with each other and form lint.
