I think they initially got together because they found each other attractive and wanted to see where it would go. They genuinely liked each other as people but I don’t think they were ever truly in love romantically. By the time they realized they weren’t going to work romantically, I don’t think the way Adam treated Blue had much to do with Blue herself. It was more about Adam and his own self-worth. Even when he realized Ronan had a crush on him, his first thought wasn’t really about Ronan. It was that someone like Ronan could actually think he was worth loving.
