@lindimarcusen: In the early stages of my TBI, I had to wear mittens so I couldn’t keep pulling out my IV’S and I couldn’t focus on anything. An Olympic gymnast I had watched compete sent me a video wishing me a full recovery. I couldn’t fully comprehend who he was or why he knew my name. But I heard him say “stay strong.” This is something that was familiar because in gymnastics this is what is said by teammates and coaches when you make a mistake in your routine. You usually still have most of your routine left to execute so quitting is never an option. You stay strong and finish your routine. I don’t have a lot of moments of clarity during this stage, but this was one of them. Thank you 🫶🏻 What are two words that have carried you further than you expected?
