I don’t believe in God and I’m also gay, and I’m also nothing close to a bible scholar, but I just checked the verse in ancient Greek and I think you are also wrong. I’m talking about Leviticus 18:22. Like even the “original” Ancient Greek text isn’t talking about men sleeping with men explicitly. This is from the first big translation into Greek in 280 BC. It has a name but I don’t know what it is in English. Anyway, the text says “and you shall not lie with a man as with a woman, for it is an abomination”. I dunno it seems pretty explicitly against homosexuality. But again I’m not a historian or a bible scholar, or even a believer. And I don’t have any other motivation for this. I’m gay and I don’t think the bible has any place in modern society, in terms of where we can get our morals from. But it literally does say men shouldn’t do with men whatever they do with women in bed. Seems pretty clear to me.

I didn’t know that David Fearon was gay somehow that makes it so much more devastating. If anyone is looking for more in depth look at how this was really discovered, there’s a documentary called 1946: the mist translation that shifted culture. I definitely recommend it.
