for all the people saying" they should be returned to the ocean where they belong" yes they do deserve to be in the ocean but they just cant the aquarium has tried multiple times to release the whale shark but it didnt work so thwy had to take the shark back to their rehabillitation centre to keep it safe from being captured and eaten by humans so before you start getting angry and say "this is cruel" actually do your reasearch

For those saying the whale should be released, the whale is not releasable due to health related issues. It will stay with the Atlanta Aquarium so it can have a long, happy life.

We were blessed to visit the aquarium in June 2025, just 2 months before losing the beautiful Taroko 😢 To see them both together was absolutely mesmerizing!
