I made a few Bosnian friends and they were the kindest people I've even met. I didn't know how terrible the Bosnian genocide truly was. These are good lessens to learn. We should never forget what happened in Bosnia.

My biology teacher was serving in the army just before the Bosnian genocide started, he voiced his concerns stating that the Serbs were up to something and he thought his regiment should intervene, he was moved on shortly after and he’s still angry that higher ups decided they knew better than he did after seeing what was going on.

As a life long St. Louisan, I have so much love and respect for Bosnians. I was in high school during the genocides and our city welcome refugees and quickly became Little Bosnia. I am so heartbroken for all my Bosnian friends and neighbors that had to endure such horrific atrocities, but so grateful to have been exposed to such a beautiful people and culture for the last 30+ years.
