@nichellelaus: Some posts are harder to write than others. Over the last few days, our policing community has experienced heartbreaking loss. First, an OPP officer killed in the line of duty. Today, a Toronto ETF officer shot and killed. Although I no longer wear the uniform, I never stopped bleeding blue. These losses remind us that behind every badge is a person. A son or daughter. A husband or wife. A mother or father. A friend. A teammate. Someone who is loved. The Toronto ETF officer was someone who shopped at our store. A familiar face. A member of our extended community. News like this hits close to home. My heart is with the families, friends, and colleagues who are grieving these unimaginable losses. Today, I ask one simple thing: If you see a police officer, take a moment to thank them. Not because they expect it. Not because they wear a uniform. But because every day they leave home prepared to run toward situations most people run away from. To the officers we’ve lost, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to others. Rest easy. We will remember. 💙🕊️ #ThinBlueLine #HeroesInLife

Scary times for people in uniform. My step son-in-law is an OPP officer who works in some dangerous areas. I pray all the time for his safety.
