this show healed me inside. as a neurodivergent girl (who underwent long term abuse) who was late diagnosed, feeling weird and unwanted has followed me my whole life, this show reminded me there was never anything inherently wrong with me.

I loved this adaptation so much. I was a bit uncertain at the more serious, darker tone, but it so perfectly captures what having a child like Anne - so clever, so unusual, so ahead of her time - would be like. How she wouldn’t fit in, how people would react badly or in surprise to her, how she would kind of be too much for most people, but how she would be like a breath of fresh air and show people a new way of thinking and being. It truly encapsulated what life as Anne would be like, for this kid who is so lovable and weird and excited to live in the world and among its people.

This was one of my moms favorite shows and since she’s passed for almost 4 years now something has gravitated to me to watch this show. Maybe I’ll feel closer to her or hear something she would’ve want me to hear in the point in life. Anyway, my point is I’m glad this popped on my fyp.
