I have watched a lot of ‘apology’ videos (as for what I’m about to say, this doesn’t feel like an apology). It’s so refreshing to see someone just simply understand why people might have been upset, take accountability, grow, learn and not make excuses. This was incredibly mature and emotionally intelligent especially as this side of TikTok is SO toxic and so easy to just want to defend yourself as a lot of the people who comment don’t actually understand what they’re commenting on. You’re doing amazing ❤️

I saw the original video and I thought you looked like a very capable rider sitting on a very expressive horse, trying to figure him out. And unfortunately, in this day and age, the armchair critics are going to pick that apart. Now as a Dressage, writer and judge who is very first in the concept of rollkur, please understand that many people who are saying it are using the term incorrectly and often in my experience, never actually saw that Training approach being used so they do not understand the difference between it and a horse going behind the vertical as they are too completely different things.

if someone is letting you ride their horse, at any level (and I'm by no means at a pro level, or anywhere near, just been riding a long time) ... it is the responsibility of the owner, to gauge the soundness of the horse. Not yours. Don't feel bad, if the horse wasn't quite right at the time, it is always for the owner or trainer, to call it out, not you
