This is not exclusive to space travel. It happens in every area of government. The idea of spending money efficiently is not rewarded. They have no incentive to be efficient. Gov employees have nearly unlimited funds and they make the same amount of salary wether they are successful or not.

He’s so right. I worked in the defense industry. Cost plus is a joke. In fact they want total control. Instead of pushing for innovation and reimbursement for work. I saw platforms smoke that the government had to shut it down because the costs grew so out of control.

Why not create a sovereign wealth fund??? Government puts money up to help research and development and once private company creates something and it is being sold and is profitable the private company pays the government the money back with interest!!!!! Then the tax payers could benefit from ALL of OUR money being used 😱

I worked for the d.o.d. When congress gives them their yearly budget if it’s not spent then they won’t get that money the next fiscal year . We had mandatory overtime to do nothing. got to use the money
