Look at a world map. Follow the latitude lines around to the USA. The places in the USA on the same latitude line have closer to your temperature. The places in the USA with the higher temps are parallel to Spain etc. it’s not as good as you think.

I live in a small town in south eastern Washington State. Winters are brutal. Hardly ever see the sun. Fog banks that last for weeks. Always damp. Then it gets cold enough to snow but still the dreary skies. Never see the sun in winter and never see a cloud in winter

We were in the Cotswolds and London last July for 15 days and it was nice 70s and low 80s for a couple days. I loved it. It was a short relief from the South Carolina temp and humidity.
