I understand that at first glance it may seem that hadith are not necessary. However, I would ask you to consider that the Quran gives commands such as establishing prayer, giving zakah, and performing hajj, yet it does not provide a complete step by step explanation of how these acts of worship are to be performed. This is why the Sunnah and hadith are understood by the majority of Muslim scholars to be necessary for fully understanding and implementing the teachings of the Quran. As for the claim that hadith are man-made, Islamic scholars developed an entire science of hadith authentication to carefully distinguish between authentic and fabricated narrations. While there are differences of opinion on certain narrations, the traditional view held by many scholars (both male and female) is that the Sunnah is an essential source of guidance alongside the Quran. I am still a student of knowledge, so I encourage everyone, including myself, to do sincere and thorough research on this topic. May Allah forgive our shortcomings and guide us to the truth.
