My deep freeze is where I shop to fill my freezer until I run out. What I don’t need is multiple trips to the market with these gas prices.

I do use my 2nd freeer correctly food is rotated an used every month I grocery shop once a month So if you use it right it is a big money saver

I use a dry eraser board to keep track of my freezer food,works great and I don’t overbuy for the 2 of us.

The one place I break your storage bin rule , but it works! lol. I vacuum seal everything in individual servings and place chicken in the chicken box, beef in beef, etc. Pizzas have a spot, etc.

And don’t get me wrong I love your content and understand most people do exactly what you describe. Teaching that it is okay to eat leftovers for two or three days isn’t a bad thing.

We buy beef by the 1/2 cow every year from a local rancher. Plus we vacuum seal and freeze a lot of the stuff we grow here on the farm. It’s the first place I shop every week (along with my pantry) before I even plan my meals. I see what we have there and only hit up the store for specialty items and fresh produce (when the garden isn’t producing). But I try really hard to make meals with what we have and not go to the store.

I have 2 freezers, full of meat! I 100% do NEED my freezers. They aren’t full of nasty food from the grocery stores.

I use a Google excel so that I can access at the grocery store on phone to justify NOT buying that pork loin that’s on sale (or see that I don’t have one and should buy it)

I raised five kids. I needed that freezer. Every day things stayed in the freezer in the house. Meal prepped meals and meats when in the freezer in the garage

Im somewhat guilty. I bought an extra compact refrigerator/freezer. I go to food pantries and this has helped prevent waste. Also a place for drinks during hot summers. I buy meat once a month and use it until it's almost gone then restock.

Every 2 months we do a “don’t shop this week” and live off what’s in our freezers. But as a prior service Property Book NCO, I support this message! Quarterly inventories is always my default.

Now I have a second freezer bc my grown daughter and her fiancee rent my upstairs and use the main freezer. I stocked my second freezer for $300 and have full meal plans scheduled for the next two months. No need to go grocery shopping for anything and without this process I guarantee I would be spending way more that $150 a month on food for my husband and I

I prepare extra meals when I cook and have them ready to go when I don't have time and would consider going out to eat. That is the only thing I put in my deep freeze. This is how I keep a freezer full of forgotten from coming for me.

Amen. but I will say that I'm now 7 years old and when I was growing up there were eight in my family and we lived on a farm. so obviously we had a garden. we raised our own speech ed our own chicken and my parents had a freezer. a chest freezer that was about 40 cubic feet. it was huge but we needed it because of all of the food that we produced throughout the year. And and obviously with eating eight people we went through it.
