The emotionally immature person you describe here is in my experience the controller of the entire family. Every child and adult knows it’s their responsibility to keep the person from getting angry or exploding into rage. The person never suffers consequences for raging because everyone else is too terrified to mention it. If one of them has the courage to, or risks it in hope of logic winning out, they themselves suffer from anger and accusations from the other innocents, I guess because they are so conditioned to this reality? What can be done? Just keep pretending and tiptoeing? Go no contact and thereby lose relationships with the rest of the family too? This is very difficult 😞
