You may want to make sure the actual closet rod/shelf that you set that on top of has extra supports installed too. You'd be surprised at how little support those actually have. We had our entire shelving system collapse in our master closet just 1 year after living in it and it was a brand new build. We definitely took extra measures to make sure it would have plenty of support after that and then checked all the other closets as well.

You honestly don’t need brackets. If it fits on the shelf you should be able to easily add bins to it. The weight of the clothing should keep it in place… mine never came down
