In this video I’m showing you guys the boarding process for a service dog. As always, I’m not telling you that this is the only way, it’s simply what we do and I hope that it helps you hence why I’m sharing it! 1. I try to board early as an empty plane is easier to navigate. Fewer people trying to pet my dog and even less trying to ask me questions. (I’m not the most social) 2. I’ve tried multiple variations, were too big for him to center heel down the aisle, he doesn’t like to reverse down the aisle nor do I like him in front of me so I keep him behind me. 3. Under no circumstances should he be interacting with anyone, no pets, no sniffing I want zero engagement other than on me. Not because I think he’ll react but because I don’t trust people. 4. I like to keep a distance from the people in front of me as I don’t like to feel crowded nor encroach on peoples space anymore than I already am. 5. I remove his ecollar and harness for his comfort. 6. I typically like to play little games, small praise and pets to keep his attention on me.
