this has been my family's "compromise" with me. they agreed to not use my old name but don't want to use my new name or pronouns. in theory I'm just "nameless oldest child". in practice they still use my old name and pronouns and only catch themselves every once in a while. it's no way to interact with another human being. wishing the best for you, Kenny.

Thats honestly a NIGHTMARE. It feels deliberate. Like “see, now we dont know what to say because you want to change your name!” When in reality they could just EASILY use your name. Im nonbinary, and I had my name changed. I hate being deadnamed, when its an accident, its fine with me. But when its on PURPOSE? Its so upsetting, and this seems like it would be 10x worse. Im so sorry.
