@lifeinlaps: I was in my tent at dusk when something burst through the flap, wings beating, and crashed into the corner — a bald eaglet, grounded, can't fly yet, shaking like a leaf. 🦅 Then I saw what chased it in: a coyote, circling my camp. And by dark, there was more than one. I couldn't leave him. I carried him out to my car with the coyote shadowing us the whole way, and we drove out. I wasn't going to keep him — so I went looking for where he belonged. 👉 I found the nest in a tall pine, his mother circling and calling above it. I set him at the base, he scrambled up to a branch, and she dropped down right beside him. A baby eagle ran into my tent to hide — and we both made it home.
