@thaisgibson: Many people assume fearful avoidants struggle with commitment because they don't want love or long-term relationships. In reality, commitment often becomes possible when two important shifts happen: they begin healing the deep fears that tell them they'll be abandoned, betrayed, or trapped, and they learn to recognize and communicate their own needs instead of focusing solely on everyone else's. Without those pieces, relationships can feel overwhelming and unsustainable. With them, commitment starts to feel safer, more balanced, and far less frightening. Do you think fear of commitment is usually about not wanting a relationship—or not feeling safe enough in one?
