The word itself comes from a combination of two Japanese sound-imitating expressions: tsun-tsun ("prickly", "arrogant", "aloof") and dere-dere ("in love", "gentle", "tender"). The main feature of tsundere is that such a character hides his warm feelings behind a mask of coldness, rudeness or irritability. He can behave sharply, argue, deny his sympathy, be embarrassed by manifestations of intimacy and pretend in every possible way that he does not care. However, when the mask falls off, it becomes clear that this person actually cares about others, worries about them and is capable of sincere affection. It is important to understand that a tsundere is not just a rude person and not just a shy person. A rude person can always be unpleasant, and a shy person may just be afraid of communication. Tsundere usually combines both states: external stiffness and internal softness. His behavior is often caused by embarrassment, fear of being rejected, inability to express feelings or desire to maintain independence. There are several varieties of tsundere. Some are really harsh at the beginning of the story and gradually become kinder. Others remain prickly almost always, but from time to time they show their caring side. There are also softer options that only slightly hide their emotions behind grumbling and jokes. Classic signs of tsundere: : Often argues or argues with a person he cares about; : Denies obvious sympathy; : Is embarrassed by praise, compliments or physical intimacy; : Helps and cares, but tries not to show it; : Can say one thing, but feel something completely different. Among the famous tsundere characters are often called Asuka Langley Soryu, Taiga Aisaka and Makise Kurisu. In real life, people are sometimes also called tsundere, but usually as a joke. This is how they can describe a person who constantly grumbles, jokes or pretends that he doesn't care, but at the same time regularly helps, worries and shows affection for loved ones.
