Could you imagine how far those sound waves travel through the water? Pile driving support legs generates extremely powerful underwater noise that can travel for many kilometers, disrupting marine life. I'm all for the oil and gas industry, i have been in it for 30 years but it's hard to deny that this type of work can have a significant impact on whales, dolphins, fish, and other marine species. It's something the industry should continue working to minimize through better technology and mitigation measures.
