my daughter is about to be 16m. she if offered a spoon/fork and kinda like plays with it in her food. but to eat by herself fully with a spoon/fork? yeah no. she usually throws them and uses her hands which is also good for their development. you’re doing great mama🫶🏼

My daughter is 15 months and needs me to hold the bottle still! We work on it obviously, but every child is different this is why I’m so scared to leave my baby anywhere other than with myself 🥺🥺

This is crazyyy!!! I’m so sorry you and your baby boy had to go through that! Every child is different and a childcare provider should understand that! 🥺 I remember messaging her when I was looking for daycare for my son at the beginning of the year, and just the way she texted back gave me a weird vibe, then I noticed she always had “drop in” spots open and also changed her schedule from Monday-Friday to Monday-Thursday while increasing her rate. Im glad I found another home daycare that has been a blessing!

My twins are 11 months old and neither of them know how to feed themselves yet. Cookies and stuff by hand but other than that nothing else. I have to feed them every meal.

as a daycare teacher myself , this is sad. I work with 1 & 2 year olds and i’d NEVER complain if they aren’t independent. some children need help with tasks more than others, especially during mealtimes and i’m more than happy to help them everyday AS THATS MY JOB.💙if he just turned one, he will get the hang of it eventually, he’s still young to be eating independently.

My 15 month old isn’t fully independent with eating, she’ll dig the spoon in yogurt, oatmeal, and mashed potatoes but also flips the spoon. They are LEARNING !!!! practice makes perfect.

I went through this with a daycare center! We have since moved her back to the first one she was at when I went back to work after my leave and she is way happier. I was constantly getting calls almost every week cause she was uncontrollably
