This is called a fall-off, and it’s one of the clearest signs that mating occurred successfully. That’s why experienced breeders don’t just put a buck and doe together and walk away. They watch for the fall-off. For better conception rates, many breeders allow 2–3 successful fall-offs before returning the doe to her cage.
