It taught me that if you can learn anything, learn how to ease someone’s pain. You never know what battle a person is fighting behind their smile. If you can give anything, give your time. Not money. Not gifts. Just your presence. The people who truly loved me were never the ones who bought me things. They were the ones who sat beside me when life was falling apart. And if you can let go of anything, let go of your ego. I’ve learned that peace is worth more than being right, and understanding is worth more than winning an argument. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve trusted the wrong people. I’ve carried burdens that were never mine to carry. But every hardship taught me something. Today, I don’t want a complicated life. I don’t want to prove myself to anyone. I just want to leave people a little better than I found them, protect my peace, and thank God for another day.
