@curvysam: I’ve travelled the world on my own. I’ve moved states on my own. Started businesses on my own. Sat in airport terminals, explored new cities, eaten at restaurants, hiked trails, and now camp under the stars on my own. And honestly? I think there’s something incredibly powerful about knowing you don’t need to rely on other people to live a full life. Of course it’s lovely to share experiences with people. Connection matters. Community matters. But I’ve learned that waiting for someone else to come with you can sometimes mean waiting forever. Some of the most rewarding things I’ve done have been the things that scared me. Growth rarely happens inside your comfort zone. In my twenties, I spent six years in a relationship that, looking back, held me back from a lot of the things I wanted to do. When that relationship ended, I was devastated. But it was also the moment my life really began. I started saying yes to things. Taking chances. Booking the trip. Going to the event. Starting over. Backing myself. And somewhere along the way, I learned to enjoy my own company. Not because I’m anti-people. Not because I never get lonely. But because I’ve realised my life doesn’t have to be on hold while I wait for someone else to join me. If you’re waiting for a sign to do the thing alone, this is it. Go anyway.
