@kenyatimelyupdates: Today, in the heart of Gilgil, at the stadium, 16 families with gather in a mass funeral service to take back the remains of their children for various burial sites around the country following the tragic Utumishi Girls inferno. The agony of taking back charred remains of children, that the parents delivered to school in perfect health is unequalled. The pain of going back home empty handed; carrying little coffins that bear years of investment of love, care, affection and warmth, is unparalleled. In that stadium today, will lie 16 visions that were cut short 😭😭😭. In that place, will lie ‘broken’ promises of “Mummy, when I become a millionaire business woman, I’ll buy you a house, take you on vacation abroad and get you gold jewelery”.😪😪😪😪 In that stadium today, will lie aborted promises of “Daddy, I’ll buy you a Range Rover and make you the proudest dad”😭😭😭 There at Gilgil stadium this morning, will lie the remains of our daughters who did so well to attain marks to enter a national school, but who became the mark of national grief.😫😫😫 16 dreams cut short. I don’t know who would have become what, but in that stadium today, our nation will witness how we have sadly been robbed of would-be terrific teachers, meticulous medics, boisterous business women, exemplary engineers, leading lawyers, patriotic police officers, principled politicians, masterful mechanics and so much more!!! Oh death, what a grim reaper you are!😫😫😫😫. What a terrible thief, that you would take children in that manner😭😭😭. I pray, that the silence of the absence of these young ones in their various homes will some day be replaced with healing and repair of souls. I pray that as a country and especially the leadership of Education, we will not let this be just another statistic, and that the arsons get the harshest punishment (yes, I said it as a Christian) and schools do better to prayer for such eventualities. Because it is not easy to wait for the normal end term report forms and no one brings the home😪😪; To wait for the ‘Happy fathers’ and mothers’ day’ wishes, in vain😪😪; To call and wait for an answer at the end of your call, in vain😪😪; To hope for a helping hand in the kitchen and the little/big sister love for other siblings, in vain😢😢; This is heavy, but God… God is still faithful 😭😭😭😭 May the Lord heal the families indeed as they bury the dreams, aspirations, visions and hopes that were embedded in each child😪😪😪.
