I know a lot of people hate the miscommunication trope as do I but in this instance it’s kind of part of the plot so it’s kind of understandable. Ming Yi didn’t go into this expecting to fall in love, she just wanted the cure and he was the only one who had it. So she had to do what she had to do. I feel like people who hate on Ming YI didn’t understand her character.

The whole thing is that if she spoke the truth although Ji Bozai would be mad but for how long then forgive her but I also kind of understand her because at first her plan was just to steal the antidote but then as she got to know him better she saw that he was nothing like how she imagined so then she fell for him which made it harder to say the truth cause what if she said the truth and she could no longer stay by her side? At the same time Ji Bozai did well in a sense that although he was mad he knew that there were reasons as to why Ming Yi couldn’t tell him the truth which made it easier to forgive her

one thing that stood out the most for this is tat despite the fact hat ming yi's power wasn't at its best capacity, she wasn't depicted as a weakling but rathery tehy depicted her true to her character as the strongest warrior and the bozai was not depicted as the too strong or to weak which balances the plot well. Everything about this drama is sooooo chef's kiss
