I never worked in the Philippines but I do agree that people working in the United States have the “seniority mindset”. It’s not a bad thing at all, it’s more of work the job that you are paid to do any other responsibilities, you should get paid for it because it’s your time, labor, and energy

depends on the work place. I've worked at different places- you nailed the first one in corporate america. and then there's more warmth in people when it's less professional work culture.

same here in Aus for the two points you've mentioned! also, I feel like people here are more vocal about appreciating your work. For instance, even if you just did what was asked of you, Aussies tend to give words of appreciation and sometimes even praise. Sa Pilipinas, dapat sobrang above and beyond ka talaga before ka marecognize. 😅

i think the “malasakit sa trabaho” trait filipinos have give them a big leverage when moving to the states or outside of the ph. ive seen a lot of filipinos advance in their jobs quickly bc of their work ethic. it really sets them apart from the american working culture. there are obv pros and cons to both!

Filipino culture is very people pleasing. We were trained to make ourselves so as to not cause a commotion. Living here in US made me realize having boundaries and advocating for myself is healthy.
