@itsamberco: Time for a change, I’ll still post here but all my UGC and finance stuff is on @thatdebtfreegirlie I’m speaking into existence a life where looking at my bank account doesn’t scare me and I’m not constantly worrying about money. Some of this is also the fact I massively need to pivot what I am doing, but right now that is not straight forward so additional income will have to be the way forward. Follow along, I know I’m not alone and hopefully we can create a little community ❤️#debtfree #debtfreecommunity #finance
well done Elon on being the worlds first trillionaire

please don't feel shame. it is a system that has evolved to be against us. we can't compare ourselves to previous generations for that reason.

I’m 34 and realised the other day, the only way I’m going to own a house is when my parents die and me and my siblings inherit the family home. I don’t own a thing other than furniture and appliances. I’m childfree, happily, by choice but I feel like I’m loosing at life.

Don’t buy a house. If I had my time again I wouldn’t buy one and would just rent. Rent a house to live and buy BTL or put your money into ETF

You are judging yourself by the standards of past generations. Theres no need to own a house and leasing a car is possibly better than buying one. The ONLY criticism of your situation is the pension, which you need to deal with. Do not beat yourself up over your situation, theres no reason too... will follow just to help ❤️

If you live with your parents you should be able to save 10k a year. Most people live with their parents through their youth

I started work at 18 and i listened to the lads at work, “don’t bother with pension it’s a scam”. I’m 37 now and because of the lack of knowledge from me and the my co workers, I’d set myself back years. Luckily the opt out pension came in and I’ve got a little something now. Upped my contributions and playing catch up. There’s still time for me, and you.

I only started with a pension at 33 when I got a job that matched contributions. I started a degree at 31 to get into the profession I went into at 33. Im now 45 still in the profession and now 12yrs into the pension. I had credit card debts in my 30s, will have them now and that is a bone of contention within me but I’ll recognise it’s hard to pay if debts whilst still living!!! I’m going to follow your journey on your other page…you can do this!!!!

I didn't buy a house til I was 39, didn't start saving til 36, didn't clear other debts til 42. earlier would have been better, but it's never too late

I’m in a very similar position, I feel such a sense of deep shame of not being more together but at the same time I have no idea how to make any change? Like my job just isn’t paying enough to live let alone save and i’ve given up on the idea of a pension! Solidarity because it’s so hard to not feel stuck!!
