Rartah doesn't become a brim cap... y'all bee making up shit. Their friend Custas does, but there is still a lot of the series to go. Tartah would probably stretch the bounds of the magical law, same as Coco, but they would never join the brimmed caps. I think the purpose of this story is to use Coco as a union flame. To restore balance to the magic world. Allow outsiders to use magic, while still upholding laws and traditions that keep people safe. She wants to use her magic to bring joy to the world and save her mother, not damn it.

Even without major accommodation I don’t understand why Qiffrey didn’t take tartah on himself. It can’t be that hard to accommodate he could ask his grandpa to put grooves on the ink bottles and vials to tell the difference fast like braille. you mean to tell me Qiffrey took in an outsider before taking on a kid with an eye disease I just…they asked for it cause wdym no what do you mean NO? I’d join the brimmed caps too.

everyone asking why they can't just make glasses for him is missing a key theme to the series: how the system leaves behind those in need while claiming what they do is for the betterment of society. we see this with Custas and how his sealchair is considered very expensive and under normal circumstances he would never afford one. how they won't use magic for medicine with the claim they're afraid of it being misused. it's not that they CAN'T it's that they WON'T

Sorry not sorry but the mage in this whole story is selfish af. They keep magic from themselves and only share within their family. Instead of hiding the magic they should increase the mage “police” capability or something 💀
