The Commissioner put to Mashaba that Nku already knew positively on 7 July, so when he spoke to Mashaba on 8 July, he would have given him the full information—obviating the need for any "confirmation" the next morning. Mashaba maintained that he only received the basic information on Thursday (8 July) and required confirmation on Friday morning. The Commissioner noted that when Nku called on Friday morning and simply said "the truck is now in Johannesburg" (without saying it had been opened or drugs confirmed), Mashaba immediately mobilized—which suggests he did not actually require any confirmation beyond the truck's arrival. Mashaba insisted that "the truck is here, landed already and I'm here" was sufficient confirmation for him. #MadlangaCommission
