@adaptwithjames: At the moment, going up the stairs feels easier than coming back down! 😅 Thanks to MND, my right leg has decided it’s not quite as enthusiastic as it used to be, so the stairlift is becoming my new chauffeur. Not exactly the sports car I had in mind, but it gets the job done! 🚡

Hi James. It’s a tough call I know, but I think you should seriously consider getting an electric wheelchair now. It’s a game changer. Mentally it must feel like giving in to the limited independence you have now. One thing worth consideration is how long it will take occupational therapy to get that chair just perfect for you. It takes some time to get things just right and you’re a tall chap, so any modifications to make it just perfect for you are going to take a little time. Even when you have it, you don’t have to use it all the time. You can still retain some independence if you feel like Walking, but I remember my dad loved his chair when he had it.
