the truth is, if ayanokoji defeated in the end, for sure hes happy on that because in the beginning of the story ayanokoji has a rule for himself, which is winning. But with all that, ayanokoji also wants to taste defeat without holding back on his opponent's. that's why he intentionally helped class D and when ayanokoji saw the potential of class D with the help of Horikita, Ayanokoji intentionally moved to a weaker class which is class B in the manga. In short, Ayanokoji just wants to lose without holding back, and prove to his father that his perspective is wrong. so I won't be surprised if in the last episode of COTE Ayanokoji will lose.

truth is he would've won but considering the amount of disadvantages he had to deal with it's understandable that he didn't win 1st place but the fact he got 11th is already insane, he had tsukishiro and the first years on him and he had to deal with nanase as she held him back from taking extreme shortcuts to the areas for the early arrival bonuses, and he didn't reach the top 10 on purpose as he didn't want to spark attention and cause people to target him, so really he would've been in the top 10 easily (he was just a couple of points away from the top 10 maybe less then 10 points of a difference, but he kept it that small on purpose) I'm assuming that the reason he never ended up in the top 10 is because tsukishiro directly targeted him on the last day which was supposed to be ayanokoji's point winning spree
