This is really cool! I’ve actually had a similar idea in my head for years. Professional moving-head tracking systems are usually way too expensive for small schools and community theaters, and they often feel like they’re always slightly behind the performer. I always wondered whether you could build a low-cost system using UWB tags. Imagine scanning the stage with an iPhone LiDAR scan, importing the model into software, placing your fixtures in the virtual space, and then tracking actors with inexpensive UWB beacons. The software could calculate pan/tilt values and output them via Art-Net or sACN to QLC+ or other lighting software. The stage model wouldn’t even need to be super accurate—just accurate enough for positioning. Most of the required technology already exists; the hard part would be developing and optimizing the software. Seeing your ESP32 + UWB project reminded me of that idea. Maybe one day someone will build it!

Did you just use 2 esp32's, having the tag on 1 and 3 anchors on the other? I've just started a small project of this fully autonomus indoor drone that follows you around using uwb.... But I have some concerns about if 1 ESP32 S3 Devboard can handle 3 at once..... Ofc I'd have it connected to the tag thru ESPNOW all the while it sends commands and reads telemetry from the AIO FC running ardupilot thru uart
