The two ogres represent the two halves of Subaru in season one. The blue ogre represents Subaru's main character hero complex in season 1. The Subaru who sees Emilia and everyone else as things to be saved more than their own people. Sacrificing himself over and over again to accomplish that self-centered sacrifice all alone. The red ogre represents the part of himself that lets others in to help him and take care of him in the latter seasons.
