Alpine is probably more concerned with the points than the podium. Give them the points and keep the order as is.

Tbf I don’t think it’s very fair. Other drivers had to serve their penalties during the race for the same issue. Russels race was completely ruined, an appeal can’t fix that and then a few others served their penalties during the race, when can’t be fixed after the race

As an RB fan that was happy for a Hadjar Podium - if they reinstate Gasly cause they effed up, then they should reinstate everyone. Have fun with that Pandora's Box FIA - you opened it now, figure out where Russell finished 😂

can you imagine the scenario, now precedent has been set, where a driver is deemed speeding in the first stop but the team is 100% sure they weren't, so they don't serve the 5s at the second stop, ignore the subsequent drive through the n ignore the subsequent DQ, because post race they'll get the first penalty overturned which automatically clears the rest.

Imo the best options are: 1) Repeat the race. 2) Delete points from this race for all drivers. 3) Apologize and do nothing. It's unfair to reinstate Gasley's P3.

Gasly should never have been reinstated, Gasly appealed and won meaning other put lane speed penalties were also wrong, of you can resolve them all you don't resolve the one

Watching the race, as soon as the speed penalties started piling up I knew it wasn’t going to be good. You never see that in F1 I knew something was wrong.

I agree the speed limit penalties were bs, the second I saw 2 drivers got it, I knew it was wrong and they just kept coming which doesn't make sense. However, the FIA needs to stop doing this, it's bs to change a podium almost a week after! It sucked for Gasly but these things should be resolved before the podium or at most later that day. It's a circus and completely unserious. I remember when it happened to George a couple of years ago and I didn't agree then, I don't agree now either.

once a penalty is served during the race, it cannot be overturned. Gasly's penalty was applied after the race and Alpine submitted their right to review within 48 hours. why does anyone else have a right to an appeal?

What they’re appealing is the decision of the appeal. Which they want to appeal. Or at least have unappealled, via the appeal process.
